You can't have ever had any account with first direct
You can't have opened a current account with HSBC since January 2018
Steps
Ensure you have two active Direct Debits or standing orders on the account you will switch from (you can use Switch Tracker to set these up for £1 each)
Open the account in-app (or online for joint accounts)
Switch in an account from a different bank which includes 2 or more direct debits or standing orders
Pay £1,000 or more into the account
Make 5 or more debit card payments
Wait until the 20th of the month after you have met the switching criteria to receive the £175
